Stache is here for the week and play time is running fast and furious. Chev sits out some of the time, but Finley, Xupe and Stache have been moving full tilt chasing each other around the backyard.

Nice job, Stache!
Junior Hunter Title for Xupe
Norling Rise Shines
We’re pleased to report that four of the puppies from Chev and Finley’s litter, now almost 10 months old, have completed their NAVHDA test of Natural Ability (NA test) and they did GREAT! Dutch and Stache earned Prize 1’s (the top prize) and Atz and Xupe earned Prize 2’s. Kudos to Bob, Kris and Kelly for their work getting their Griffs ready. No small feat!
Here are a few shots from two of the test days…

Anticipated litter – Chev and Samantha
Agassiz’s Samantha, a female WPG from Arizona, has been with us this month. She and Chev were bred this past week and a litter of puppies is likely in late October. They’ll be whelped in Arizona and available for families around late December.
Samantha is a sweetheart in the house – affectionate, snuggly and good with our three dogs. She fit right in from the moment she arrived. She has an N.A. Prize 1 and her Penn hip score is in the top 20% She loves water and works close when hunting. She flips into hunting mode the minute we step outside and she’s easy to recall. Samantha is that great combination of terrific companion at home and avid hunter in the field.
Folks interested in a puppy from this litter can contact Jim Carpenter at jcarpen323@wildblue.net or by phone at 928 213-1642.

Xupe “Training”
Biff and Xupe took an overnight trip up to Four Brooks, one of the testing grounds for the NAVHDA Natural Ability test, to have a little fun in the water and with birds. The good thing is that you go right past Oakwood Pheasant Farm on the way there and can pick up chuckers and pheasants. Call Biff if you’re interested as you’ll need to get a permit to use Four Brooks. He can provide you the contact information.
Xupe was pooped afterwards!

Featuring: Dutch
Dutch is our latest guest and he’s settled well into life with him mom, dad and brother (and us).
Biff was working on projects while all four Griffs and I spent a good part of the day out on the porch. We’ve had a LOT of rain this spring, but today was sunny and gorgeous. The breeze was moving, the air was sweet and the doggies relaxed (in between romps in the backyard) while I read. LOVE summer!
